Musings apon a new year of homeschooling
Teaching school is so rewarding, but it can also be hard.
You see them struggle and you so badly want to tell them the answers. But you know that would only be helping them in the short term, in the long run you will have harmed them. It is like hatching out a struggling chick from its shell with your fingers breaking the shell for it, you temporarily freed them, but you have robbed them too. You robbed them of the struggle that would have strengthened them in the long run.
You robbed them of the triumph after the struggle. It hurts to watch but you know that is what may save them later. Now that may be a bit dramatic for a school lesson, but in perhaps a smaller way it is the same. I can help by giving them the tools they need, stepping back to allow them to persevere to the finish line, I can encourage them giving them the hope to carry on. While it may not look like the help they would like or my heart would give, it is the best help. Imagine how it pains our Father in heaven to see us struggle yet also brings him joy knowing the end.❤️🥹😭 “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:2-4💗
