Homeschool appreciation: Reading edition

We have now reached that sweet spot in reading tutorage.

(Books being read are  (Joelle, myself) When Beauty Blooms by Victoria Lynn, (Naomi) The Twins Tom and Don by Gertrude Hildreth (a vintage easy reader I found on eBay), and (Wisdom) Opening Books, a Macmillan Reading program Preprimer that I also found on eBay. It is below her reading level but she is to the point where she reads the easier books too just for extra practice!)

Where several of us can read at once and I love that! Though I will admit I had to pause my story quite often to help out with a few words, but it has started and it just gets better from here. I am so beyond excited to introduce my sisters to all my favorite chapter books until eventually they have read the mammoths like The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins.🥰 I actually just finished that one for the first time and Willkie collins is quickly ascending my ladder of favorite literature.  I can’t wait for them to read Robinson Crusoe, Little Women and the four following novels,  the Brontë sisters works, 20,000 leagues under the sea, the mark of Zorro,  and so many more! This is by no means an exhaustive list as one could imagine!😅

Apparently I accidentally started a tradition!😅 While typing this Naomi finished the last page of her second reader (aside from the bob books!) and immediately flipped to her favorite chapter and held it up for a photo as she told me why it was her favorite. I was surprised but I don’t mind one bit! I love her enthusiasm of reading
