TURKEY TAIL!!!!
TWO!!! Two long term wild foraging goals.. in one year. I can’t believe I found both St. John’s wort and Turkey tail for the first time this year.. I found a long full of turkey tail, caught by the vibrant color. Based on the color, velvety surface, and the way they were growing I thought it was turkey tail. But I couldn’t remember which was turkey tail= pores or gills. I decided turkey tail did not have pores, but I couldn’t shrub off the nagging that it was turkey tail. So i stuck these two into my pocket to check at home. Welp guess it’s time to go get some more!😅 I wonder how many times I have walked past turkey tail…it has been the hardest for me to confidently identify because of all the many many lookalikes!
